To measure displacement of concrete we can offer different types of sensors. These sensors could be embedded or mounted to the concrete. For higher displacement we can offer a Strain cable (SC-02) which consist a spring to allow displacement up to 5%.
The fibre optic anchor strain chain ASC-01 contains different strain segments in series. The sensor configuration has a small diameter and is designed to become embedded inside structures (e.g. concrete, grout, plaster, …). Each strain segment contains 1 FBG in between two anchor points. A relative displacement between the two anchor points is transferred into a change in the strain state of the FBG. The standard length of a segment can be chosen between 0.5 and 5 meters. The sensor can be connectorised at both ends to make series configurations possible.
The mountable strain sensor measures the deformation between its anchoring points. The fibre optic sensor is fixed inside a ruggedized housing that is connected to the anchors using nuts. The anchors are bolted in concrete or welded to metal constructions. The nuts are also used to apply pre-tension on the sensor to monitor compression and elongation. The distance between both the anchoring points can be chosen between 70 and 100 mm. The sensor has fibre optic cables at both ends in order to make series configurations possible.
The fibre optic Strain Cable SC-02 is a long base strain gage sensor that can measure displacements up to 5% of its gage length. The sensor can be mounted on a structure by means of two anchoring points. The standard gage length can be chosen between 0.5m and 1m meter. The sensor is connectorised at one end and can optionally be delivered with an integrated temperature sensor for temperature compensation.
The strain sensor SC-03 is a strain sensor that is intended to measure the averaged strain on or in structures. The sensor can be mounted on the surface of the structure by means of mounting braces or it can be embedded into concrete during casting. The fiber is prestrained in its housing in order to measure also compression next to tension. Hence no special precautions with respect to pre-tensioning the fibre needs to be taken during installation. A temperature sensor can be optionally included for temperature compensation purposes. The sensor can be connected at both ends in order to make series configurations possible
