01x MXC – 01x MXC 16F ROUND JUMPER

  • Cable assemblies with MXC connectors use optical interconnect technology adopted by the open compute consortium, targeting high-broadband data centre interconnection. The expanded beam PRIZM MT ferrule used in the MXC connector offers higher resistance to dust and dirt contamination. MXC to MXC trunks are designed for short-distance, high-broadband connections within a rack or cabinet.
  • The thin 16-fibre round cable is terminated on both sides with MXC connectors which carry the basic type of PRIZM® MT ferrules with one row of lenses. PRIZM® MT ferrules greatly reduce sensitivity to debris, and MXC connectors take up less space in comparison to standard MPO/MTP connectors. With a lower spring force, this assembly is suitable for applications which demand the repeated mating of connectors. The round cable structure imparts sufficient flexibility to the assembly.

The MXC connector carries the new PRIZM® MT ferrule with lenses, which makes it impervious to dust and dirt contamination. The PRIZM® MT ferrule’s hermaphroditic functionality eliminates the need for costly stainless steel guide pins, while the MXC connector takes up less space in comparison to a standard MPO/MTP connector.
  • A “backplane” solution for high-speed optical connections directly from PCB to card edge, the MXC receptacle on the card edge offers a compact design with a small footprint and a ruggedised interface using an expanded beam PRIZM MT ferrule. The PRIZM LT connector offers the possibility of using AVAGO MiniPODs/MicroPODs or US CONEC MOI for direct PCB connection.
  • On one side, the assembly carries 32 fibres with MXC receptacle connector on the other side, it is equipped with two PRIZM® LightTurn connectors. The MXC connector carries the new PRIZM® MT ferrule with two rows of lenses. This combination brings a perfect card edge solution with a small connection footprint and increased resistance against debris. PRIZM® LightTurn® miniature detachable connectors provide for perpendicular connection to printed circuit boards, and are very often used for connection to AVAGO MiniPOD / MicroPOD parallel optic modules.
